If sound no longer traveled through the air, if sound only traveled through our body ...... Sound disappeared and there was no more sound in space ...... Sound could only be felt through touch... ...Would you choose touch or distance? Would you give your body to the sound and become a loudspeaker? How can we feel the resonance of sound together?
This performance explores what it means to perceive, and experience sound collectively within a space where environmental sounds are gradually disappearing, and the only way to listen is through physical contact, when our bodies become vessels of sound.
Audience are confronted with choices - to come closer for listening, to touch or to remain at a distance, and how willing they are to offer their physical distance for sharing the resonance determines what they can listen. What happens when our bodies negotiate the boundaries of what we can hear…
